At the Open Search Foundation, people from different professional backgrounds work hand in hand. We devote our personal commitment and energy to the vision of the Open Search Foundation. This shared commitment is our driver, our capital. Beyond the core team, the large Open Search community with people at research institutes and data centres drives the Open Search movement forward.
We have set out to shape the next generation of Internet search for the good of the public. We will achieve this goal – not with money as the driving force – but through a willingness to cooperate.
We need Open Search; a public and transparent search infrastructure that is independent of commercial interests.

The Internet was originally developed as an open communication infrastructure. This openness must be maintained, despite legitimate company interests, especially for important core tasks such as searching the Internet.
